Affordable Housing Council

AHCCW logo

The Affordable Housing Council of Central Washington (AHCCW) champions the future of homebuilding by actively engaging with elected officials across local, state, and federal levels. We support candidates and ballot measures which defend property rights, fuel economic development, and strengthen the housing industry.

Our efforts are powered by voluntary contributions from CWHBA members who believe in protecting housing opportunity and expanding access to homeownership. Members who contribute $60 or more annually become AHCCW council members and are encouraged to participate in the candidate endorsement process. Council members who meet the participation requirements outlined in the AHCCW bylaws are recognized as Trustees and granted voting privileges.

AHCCW remains politically neutral, backing candidates and initiatives based on their positions, not their party. Our priority is simple: to elect leaders who understand smart housing policy starts with listening to those who build our communities.

Defending Local Control and Protecting Homebuilding in Central Washington

Each year, new legislation from Olympia threatens to override local decision-making and impose one-size-fits-all mandates which hinder housing growth and affordability in our communities. We believe those closest to the challenges—our local leaders, planners, and builders—are best equipped to shape housing policy.

We are actively working to push back against state-level legislation making it harder to build homes and harder for families to thrive here. By empowering local officials, educating the public, and supporting policies which reflect the unique needs of Central Washington, we’re taking a stand for the future of housing in our region.

Your support fuels our advocacy and helps elect local candidates who understand the importance of economic vitality, housing access, and the homebuilding industry. Together, we can defend our region’s right to grow responsibly and ensure local voices—not distant lawmakers—lead the way forward.

Invest in housing advocacy today. Help us build the American Dream—and protect it for the next generation.

Council members typically meet monthly on the 2nd Wednesday at 3:30pm in person and via Zoom.
