Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL) Training


Do you need a Construction Stormwater General Permit from Ecology? If your project disturbs over an acre of land or is in a subdivision, you probably do. One of the requirements of this permit starts in October: all sites disturbing over an acre must have a Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL). The CESCL is trained to inspect, install, and manage stormwater controls on your site. Because Ecology requires the CESCL to be on-call or on-site at all times, most companies will need more than one employee trained as a CESCL.

Forklift Safety Training & Certification

There has been changes in OSHA rules and regulations regarding Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT). Anyone who operates a forklift, or and for of PIT is required to attend a forklift safety course and obtain certification that they understand how to safely operate a PIT. A refresher course is required every three years. Fines up to $7,000.00 per uncertified person can be assessed.

AHERA Accredited Asbestos Building Inspector

Annual Refresher Class

EPA, DOE, and L&I regulations require that buildings are inspected for asbestos prior to a renovation or a demolition job. Only an
AHERA accredited asbestos building inspector can sample/inspect such materials.
Individuals holding this certification must take an annual refresher class in order to maintain their certification. The CWHBA has made arrangements to offer this refresher course.

Certified Renovators Class

The EPA and WA State requires all contractors who may disturb lead paint on pre-1978 homes become a Certified Renovator as of March, 22, 2011. The fines hurt: Up to $10,000 for each violation! Firms who knowingly or willingly violate EPA's RRP Program requirements could result in penalties of up to $10,000 To comply with this new law, contractors must have one Certified Renovator on staff and have their company certified with the EPA or Washington State Department of Commerce for $50 fee.
