Welcome!

Over 780 members strong, the Central Washington Home Builders Association (CWHBA) is a not-for-profit professional trade association dedicated to promoting, protecting and preserving the homebuilding industry.

CWHBA has been "Building and Supporting our Communities Since 1955," when it was founded by a group of builders who wanted an organization to serve the interests and needs of the homebuilding industry.

Originally called the Yakima Home Builders Association, the name was changed in 1977 to better reflect the association's increasing membership and the changing climate of the local home building industry.

Today, the CWHBA is based in Yakima and supports two chapters: Kittitas and Klickitat. The CWHBA is led by member volunteers and professional staff, who strive to address issues unique to the various professionals within the association.

For more than 50-years, the association has encouraged and promoted member participation. Members drive the agenda and actions of the CWHBA, and the association has thrived and prospered.

CWHBA acts as a political watch dog for its members by keeping them informed about state and local policy changes that affect them. The Association lobbies on behalf of its membership when proposed legislation impacts the building industry. The members of CWHBA also look after the communities they represent by donating labor, materials and funds to a variety of charitable organizations.

The CWHBA is one of more than 800 local homebuilder associations throughout the U.S. and is affiliated with the Building Industry Association of Washington and the National Association of Home Builders.

Builder members range from large companies to individual contractors and include developers, custom and speculative builders, multifamily builders, manufactured housing companies, residential remodelers and general contractors.

Membership in the association is not limited to builders; members represent an array of housing-related businesses and industries including trade contractors; building materials manufacturers, suppliers and distributors; lending institutions; real estate companies; utilities; surveyors; title companies; attorneys; accountants; engineers; architects; designers and more. Since 1955, CWHBA has provided more than a half-century of service to the homebuilders and those associated with the industry throughout Central Washington.
